Natural newborn baby and parenthood photography in beautiful locations in St. Albans

I capture natural, relaxed and beautiful photographs of you and your newborn baby outdoors in St. Albans. I recommend photographing you and your newborn baby at a gorgeous wildflower field just outside of Sandridge that looks heavenly in all seasons and creates very special photos.

If you would prefer photography of your newborn baby in your own home then we can make that happen too!

Ahhhh… the newborn days. The daze, the blur, the rollercoaster of emotions, the highs, the lows, the recovery, the exhaustion and the love. The motherhood and parenthood journey. The tiny little bundle of loveliness. I’ve been there with my two little boys and I’ve felt it ALL. It’s an incredibly special and unique time that really does pass so unbelievably quickly. I remember knowing to try and savour the early days as much as I could when my second son was born as I knew it would fly by.

I know that you’re possibly exhausted and probably a little overwhelmed and very likely feeling all the emotions. I recommend that teeny tiny newborn photos are taken up to three weeks old but if you’re anything like me when my first son Theo was born then you may be struggling to leave the house even to make your health visitor appointment on time and feel that a photoshoot may be too much of a stretch! I think that anywhere during the “fourth trimester” (up to three months) is ideal to take beautiful and natural newborn baby photos. Contact me during your pregnancy or in the first few weeks after your baby has arrived to book in your newborn photoshoot.

I will photograph your baby on their own and you and your partner with your baby too. Siblings welcome! Dogs too! It takes a village!

My style is very natural, nothing too posed and nothing cheesy! I will guide you through the photoshoot with lots of prompts and direction. I will position you in the best light and celebrate the nature around us with lots of flowers or soft grasses in the foreground creating images with a little bit of magic and romance. If you would prefer that I join you in your house that’s okay too!

The photoshoot will take between 45 - 60 minutes as I’ve found that’s optimal for capturing a good mix of natural and more traditional portraits. We will take the photoshoot at your baby’s pace - if you need to stop to feed, that’s okay! We can capture some beautiful and natural moments of feeding too.
