Ahhh your teeny tiny bundle – the little toes and fingers, all the little details, the evolution for you and your partner to parents, or maybe your other child or children becoming a big brother or sister for the first time. It’s such an incredibly special and unique time and it passes so quickly. It is important to capture this time and your new little person.
We can decide if you would prefer the newborn baby photography session to take place at home or in a beautiful and peaceful outdoors location. During the winter, spring and late autumn I recommend that I join you at home so that it is warm enough to photograph your baby with their little hands and feet on show – it’s all about capturing the little details.
My style is very natural, nothing too posed and nothing cheesy! I will guide you through the photoshoot with lots of prompts and direction and will position you in the best light.
When I arrive at your home I will take about 15 minutes just to have a look around and select the best spot and maybe move distracting things – like a doormat out of the way! Ideally we will take the majority of the photos beside a big window or glass doors for lots of natural light. I recommend that I arrive in your house between 10.30am – 2pm for the best natural light indoors.
The photoshoot will take between 1 -2 hours. We will take the photoshoot at your baby’s pace – if you need to stop to feed, that’s okay! We can capture some beautiful and natural moments of feeding too if you would like that.
I recommend that your baby is dressed in something simple like a white vest so that we can see their little details and hands and feet. If you have a beautiful knitted blanket (perhaps a special one that was a gift for example!) for baby to lie on that would ideal! For parents – neutral colours and denim photograph very well. However the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that you feel comfortable and happy so ultimately wear what makes you feel good! There is lots of inspiration on Pintrest and Instagram on newborn photo family outfits if you would like more ideas. My top tip is to try on your outfit and take a couple of phone pictures – if you’re happy then I’m sure it will be perfect!
The newborn photoshoot minute includes a minimum of 50 images (but often I will send more, I will send you as many images as I can from the session). The cost is £350. I will send you a beautiful high resolution online gallery that you can send round to family and friends. My editing style is just as you see on my Instagram and website – very natural, a little bit golden and warm with a little bit of “pop” to the tones and colours! There are no additional costs. The images are yours to download and print.
