St Albans Museum & Gallery and The Hub on Verulam wedding – Katie & Jack

It was such an honour to photograph Katie and Jack’s beautiful day in August 2024. I joined Jack and his groomsmen at his family home near Hertford for a few photos while the boys got ready accompanied by the Venga Boys and some throwback songs to their school and university days.

I then drove to St. Albans and joined Katie, her mum, sister, auntie and bridesmaids and glam squad at her house near to Clarence Park. I photographed the moments as they happened and then asked the girls to join me in the garden for a few bridal portraits. It was a lot of fun and they were such a lovely group of friends.

We took taxis into town to the St. Albans Museum & Gallery for the couple’s beautiful and emotional ceremony led by celebrant Kelly Hawes. The Museum & Gallery is such a spectacular venue for a wedding ceremony. I love the light, colours and grandeur of the room are a dream to photograph. The chandeliers are amazing and the room has been so beautifully restored. I call it the ballroom and it’s one of my favourite places for a wedding ceremony, it has so much history and magic.

Then the bridal party walked through St. Peters Street and down to The Hub on Verulam for the best drinks reception, dinner and party.

After their gorgeous ceremony we took a few quick wedding party and family portraits in the ballroom in front of the huge mirrors as they create the perfect framing and give a little bit of royalty vibes!

The Hub on Verulam has become one of my favourite venues for a wedding, the space is so stunning for photography, filled with interesting corners and gorgeous light. It has so much atmosphere and the food, drinks and staff are brilliant. We did a big confetti toss in the courtyard and the speeches were done outside under the summer canopy. It truly is such a unique and special venue.

We took couple portraits on George Street as the sun was setting, Katie & Jack joined me as we walked up and down George Street for a quick 10 minutes capturing natural, happy and beautiful wedding portraits.

Katie’s stunning dress was from local St Albans bridal shop What Alice Wore https://www.whataliceworebridal.com

Her flowers were from local Hertford florist Jane Maple https://www.janemaplesflowers.co.uk
